Bespoke holistic massage treatments created just for you

About Me

My name is Rebecca Baird and I am a level 4 qualified Holistic Massage Therapist. I recently completed my training at
Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork and am an MTI registered practitioner.

I am passionate about holistic living and am especially interested in the link between massage and better mental health. I believe that massage is essential for our wellbeing and not just a luxury. I love animals, so all of the products I use are vegan and cruelty-free.

I'm a lover of arts and crafts and can usually be found crocheting, sewing or doing macrame. I will have various handmade items for sale which you can find in my studio and on my instagram: @handmadeholistic.

I am about to start my reiki training - watch this space!

The Studio

We’ve created a beautiful space in an unconventional setting - a "rough around the edges" former council owned building which has been taken over by Bricks Bristol. Bricks have given it new life as a buzzing creative and community hub. There will be lots of interesting projects, exhibitions and hustle & bustle going on in the near future for you to visit after your massage treatment.

My mission is to create a safe and inclusive space for people of all walks of life to come and receive massage.

Whether you have no experience of massage or receive them weekly, I want everyone to feel welcome and at ease.

I look forward to holding space for you.

What is Holistic Massage?

Holistic in its essence means “whole”.
In holistic massage, we treat the person as a whole and not just a collection of physical symptoms to try and ‘fix’. We take into account a person’s mental and emotional needs as well as the physical.
As humans, we tend to hold onto our emotions. They get stuck in our body and this can show up as physical aches and pains. Holistic massage can help to release this 'stuck' energy and at the same time provide relief from physical ailments. Massage therapy provides a safe and nurturing space where healing can take place on all levels.
I use a wide range of techniques depending on your identified needs. We will go through an initial consultation where I will find out about you and your lifestyle. This will help me to create an individual massage treatment which will bring the physical, mental and emotional aspects of you back into harmony.

What to expect at your appointment

When you arrive I will ask you to sanitise your hands.
We will go through an initial consultation form and discuss your medical history, lifestyle and anything else you feel is relevant. This is confidential and is to help me give you the best massage possible.
We will agree on a treatment plan then I will leave the room so you can undress. Most people either undress fully or leave their underwear on. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with. You will be covered by a drape and I only uncover the area that I’m working on. It is easier to work on the body when it’s fully or mostly undressed but I can work around underwear and clothing.
Please put your clothes in the box provided. This is sanitised between clients.
During the massage, I will check in regularly about pressure and to let you know when I will be uncovering a different part of the body to work on. I encourage you to let me know if you would like more or less pressure, if something is uncomfortable or if you want me to stay longer on a certain area. This is your massage and I want you to get the most out of it.
After the massage is over I will leave the room again so you can dress. We will then go over some aftercare to help you maintain the benefits of the treatment.

Covid-19 Guidelines

The following guidelines are in place to keep myself and my clients safe and to avoid having to close my business to isolate.

Please come to your appointment wearing a mask (if you are not exempt). I will be wearing a mask until further notice.

Government guidelines state that massage therapists are no longer required to wear gloves and aprons, however I will be happy to wear these at your request. I wash my hands thoroughly between clients and sanitise before starting the treatment.

All equipment (including the massage table) is sanitised and the treatment room ventilated between clients. All drapes, couch covers and towels are changed for each client.

Lateral Flow Tests

If possible, please take a lateral flow test the day before your appointment. This is not a requirement but adds an extra layer of protection. I am taking them twice a week at present and have had both vaccinations.

Please reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • A high temperature

  • A new or continuous cough

  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Cancellation Policy

I require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your massage appointment. If you cancel within less than 48 hours you will be liable to pay 50% of the treatment cost and 100% with less than 24 hours notice. This is to ensure that the appointment space can be filled.

Please note that I do not offer an 'undraped massage' or anything other than Holistic massage. This is non-negotiable. If I'm made to feel uncomfortable at any point during your session, you will be asked to leave and full payment will be taken.
